Spring Term

Dear Parents /Carers,

 

I hope you all had a lovely break over the Christmas and happy new year to you all. Welcome to the Spring Term where our new topic this term is “Farmyard Fun!” During this topic we are focusing on 3 brilliant stories; ‘Rosie’s Walk’, ‘The Little Red Hen’ and ‘What the Ladybird Heard’. Alongside these we will be looking at lots of different animals, learning new songs/ rhymes and researching what life is like on a real farm!

 

Additional information:

 

  • Reception will be taking part in Outdoor Learning/ Forestry school activities this term. Children will be outdoors in all weathers. They will be provided with a waterproof suit however please provide your child with a pair of wellies to be kept at school.

 

  • Read, Write Inc books are changed once a week—this is to build fluency and confidence in reading. Please read with your child every night and practise words/ sounds in pink packs. Book bags are to be brought in everyday. Your child can also take an additional picture book/ story book home which they can change daily.

 

  • Homework is given out on Friday to be returned on the Thursday of the following week.

 

  • Please ensure school uniforms and PE kits are fully labelled with your child’s name.
